FAQS about the Ohio Express

When and where are the games played?
Tournaments are played during the months of April-June. Tournaments are almost always played on the weekends. We play in tournaments throughout Central Ohio. We will play in between 6-8 tournaments.

Where and when will we practice?
Players and parents are asked to help get practice time donated from their local school districts and organizations (churches, YMCA, etc.). It is our goal not to have to pay for any practice time. We ask that each member of a team supply at least one practice to their team. Yes, all games and pratices are mandatory.

What age bracket does my daughter qualify for?
Age is determined by your daughters’ age as July 1, 2007.

What are some of the benefits?
Many, we offer excellent coaching; we stress sound fundamental basketball, offer free instructional clinics and open gyms. Give you the chance to play basketball with girls of the same ability and better prepares you for school ball.

Is this for my daughter and I?
Only you can answer that. If you want to give your daughter the chance to play with and against some of the better players in the state. If you would like the chance to get away and see other parts of the state while meeting and befriending other parents and girls from different school districts then YES this is for you!

What is the cost for all of this?
The cost of playing for the Ohio Express is $300. This fee helps to pay for tournament fees and uniforms, along with any other administrative costs. We get bulk discounts on uniforms and tournaments to help give you more bang for your basketball dollar. You will also be asked to participate in at least one fundraiser to help with expenses and to help keep your cost down.

What if my daughter wants to play but I don’t think we can afford it?
Call us! The Ohio Express works with local churches and charities to supply numerous girls with confidential scholarships to girls that want to play but can’t afford it. Coaches and other parents are usually more than happy to help with transportation problems as well.

What team will my daughter play on and is she guaranteed a spot on a team?
Teams are divided into Blue, Gold and White teams and no one is guaranteed a spot on a certain team. Players will be placed on teams by the Board of Directors with input from the coaches. The final say goes to the Board on where players are placed. While we don’t want to turn anyone away, we cannot guarantee everyone will be placed on a team. We will do our best to place everyone that wants to play on a team.

Sounds good! How do we get started?
