It has been a privilege to have the opportunity to coach Haley Crawford. Haley is a very coachable, versatile, and hard working basketball player. She is also an honor roll student and is well-respected by her teachers and peers. Haley is a leader by example.
Haley is just starting to tap into her potential and has the tools needed to be an excellent all-around basketball player. She has made the commitment to improving her game this spring and summer through playing for the Ohio Express and attending our open gyms and workout sessions. I have no doubt that Haley's skill levels will improve across the board this summer due to her great work ethic.
At one point or another during this season, Haley played every position for us but the point guard position. Haley's versatility and wide range of skills can present matchup problems for opposing defenses. If Haley draws a smaller defender on her, we post that defender up. If Haley draws a larger defender on her, we isolate that defender on the perimter, a favorable matchup for us.
Defensively, Haley is often outsized by four to five inches, if not more. Haley does a good job of using her body to gain rebounding positioning and had 17 rebounds in one game this season. Haley also does a good job of fronting the post and denying the ball.
Haley's biggest weakness right now is lateral quickness. We will be working on this over the summer at Miller High School as part of our speed, agility, and strength program. I have little doubt that Haley will turn this weakness into a strength over the summer and into the winter season.
If you are looking for coachable and versatile player that always works hard for your basketball program, I highly recommend Haley Crawford.
I would love the opportunity to discuss Haley Crawford and your basketball program, please contact me at any time at (740) 624-2378.
