Heather
Booth has played for me the last three years as a member of the
Ohio Express AAU organization. In my twenty years of coaching, both
boys and girls at all levels of basketball, I can honestly say that
Heather is the hardest working and most coachable athlete that I
have had the pleasure of coaching.
Heather is
and will be an asset to any basketball program that she is a part
of. Heather comes from a strong family with great values and they
have instilled in Heather the importance of working hard and listening.
Heather has good size and great athleticism to go along with all
of the above mentioned. Heather can play the post and has very natural
post moves as well as the ability to jump over almost anyone guarding
her. Heather plays very aggresively and will not avoid contact,
she will shoot her fair share of foul shots over the course of the
season and has the ability to make a very good percentage. In the
last year, we have also started to use Heather more facing the basket
and her skill out to 15-feet is very good. In the future, I would
like to see Heather contine to improve her jump shot range and I
believe that she will do the work neccesary to do so. Heather usually
plays the 3 or 4 for us and has even played some 2 and 5 so she
is very versatile and helps the team wherever she is on the court.
Heather can
continue to develope her abilty to handle the basketball and just
needs to work on her court vision and abilty to handle the basketball
in the open court. As she continues to see time on the perimeter,
I'm sure that phase of her game will continue to improve also. Heather
is also very versatile on the defensive end of the court as she
plays very good post defense and moves her feet to deny post entry
and challenges the shot very well inside. Last spring I used Heather
to guard the opponents point guard, Heather's size and quickness
was a very good defensive weapon for us as she is quick enough to
stay with most guards and big enough to make it hard to throw over
the top.
In closing,
I cannot speak highly enough of Heather Booth as a basketball player
and as a person. If you have any questions about Heather please

Dear Sir or Madame,
I was fortunate to coach Heather
Booth during her 7th and 8th grade seasons ( 2005-2006, 2006-2007)
at Newport Jr. High of the Frontier Local School District
located in Division 12 in SE Washington County Ohio.
Heather was and is an outstanding
player and student. Her talent and ability on the court exceed
many others I have coached during my 17-year tenure in two
different school districts. She showed me the drive and love
for the game that many players never achieve!
Her court presence was always
felt by both her teammates and opponents. She always gave
100% on the court and would listen and understand what I was
trying to teach her about the game. As a result of her tremendous
work ethic she now holds the all time scoring record at Newport
with 368 points scored in 28 games during her 7th and 8th
grade years (13.1 ppg). Her seventh grade team went 12 –
0 and won the county championship that year in Division A.
Her eighth grade year our team went 11 – 5 and were
runner up in Division AA.
During her eighth grade year
Heather was 48 of 68 attempts at the foul line for 70.6% and
barely missed the school record for free throw percentage.
I hope Heather continues to
work hard and never change her personality or love for the
game.
Sincerely,
Coach
Rodney Boron
